Refractive surgery: presbyopia, myopia operation for refractive errors of the eye
This laser surgery consists of deeply reshaping the corneal curvature using an excimer laser and thus correcting the refractive errors of the eye (presbyopia, myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia).
This eye operation therefore makes it possible to do without a correction system (glasses or contact lenses).
This operation takes less than ½ hour (less than half a minute of laser per eye), under anesthesia with eye drops.
It consists of two stages:
1. Cutting a corneal flap on the surface:
The preliminary cutting of a thin strip in the thickness of the cornea can be done either with a Femtosecond laser (100% laser operation) or with a Microkeratome (classic Lasik).
2. Treatment of visual defect by Excimer laser:
The Excimer laser allows to modify the surface of the cornea with micrometric precision in order to correct most refractive errors: myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia (presby-lasik).
When the laser procedure is complete, the flap is put back in place by the surgeon.
