{"id":76,"date":"2013-07-15T10:41:30","date_gmt":"2013-07-15T09:41:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/?page_id=76"},"modified":"2020-12-15T11:23:56","modified_gmt":"2020-12-15T10:23:56","slug":"dmla-macula-retine","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/en\/dmla-macula-retine\/","title":{"rendered":"AMD, MACULA, retina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/img_test.png\" alt=\"retine\" width=\"240\" height=\"161\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>The Retina<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>retina<\/strong> is a membrane about 0.5 mm thick that covers about 75% of the <strong>inner surface of the eye<\/strong> and lines the back of the eye.<\/p>\n<p>The retina contains nerve cells that allow light rays to be captured and then transformed into nerve impulses to reach the brain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">It therefore transforms light into electrical signals which are carried to the brain by the <strong>optic nerve.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>The Macula<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>macula<\/strong>, or yellow spot, is the central region of the <strong>retina<\/strong>, located close to the optical axis.<\/p>\n<p>The name yellow spot comes from the fact that this area has a yellowish coloration compared to the rest of the retina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">This is where <strong>visual acuity<\/strong> is at its maximum, meaning it provides the most precise <strong>vision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Age-related macular degeneration<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/en\/dmla-macula-retine\/descriptions-de-la-dmla\/\" target=\"_self\">AMD<\/a>) is a condition characterized by progressive damage to the macula that affects more than 1.3 million French people and more than 25 million people worldwide.<br>\nIt is the leading cause of visual impairment after the age of 50, but the emergence of new treatments is changing the data on the problem.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La R\u00e9tine La r\u00e9tine est une membrane d&rsquo;environ 0,5 mm d&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur qui couvre environ 75 % de la face interne de l\u2019\u0153il et qui tapisse le fond de l&rsquo;\u0153il.
