{"id":35,"date":"2013-07-15T10:28:37","date_gmt":"2013-07-15T09:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/?page_id=35"},"modified":"2025-10-21T11:33:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T10:33:55","slug":"la-cataracte","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/en\/la-cataracte\/","title":{"rendered":"Cataract"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/cache_2420520053.png\" alt=\"cache_2420520053\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>maladie de la cataracte<\/strong> se traduit par une opacification du <strong>cristallin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In the absence of cataract, and in a patient with no <a title=\"Visual defects\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vision-laser.fr\/en\/les-defauts-visuels\/\" target=\"_self\">visual defect<\/a>, the lens is transparent.<br>\nThanks to the phenomenon of <strong>accommodation<\/strong> of the lens, <strong>near vision<\/strong> is made possible \u2014 even when the object is close to the <strong>eye<\/strong> \u2014 by adjusting the curvature of the lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Cataract is the loss of transparency of the lens, which transmits images less effectively.<br>The cataract blurs the perception of images and colors and is responsible for a <strong>progressive loss of vision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Cataract disease may be congenital \u2014 of hereditary origin \u2014 traumatic, resulting from a <strong>blow to the eye<\/strong>, or secondary to severe <strong>eye infections<\/strong>.<br>However, it most often develops gradually with age due to the <strong>natural aging of the lens<\/strong>.<br>Some factors, however, can worsen or accelerate the disease: exposure to ultraviolet light, smoking, alcoholism, diabetes, and certain treatments (prolonged corticosteroid therapy) or metabolic disorders.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La maladie de la cataracte se traduit par une opacification du cristallin.
